Individual Therapy

About

At Inspired Therapy Studios, LLC, patience, empathy, and gentle encouragement are used to transform doubt and darkness into creative expression, compassion, and inspiration for change. In addition to psychodynamic therapy, DBT, and empowering psychoeducation, creative art and play therapy are offered to children, adolescents, and adults as alternatives to traditional talk therapy. Elements of nature are also incorporated as a therapeutic metaphor and aide for psychodynamic processing.

Founded on person-centered theory, the therapist recognizes each person as their own best expert with genuine, unconditional positive regard and strives to illuminate innate strengths, values, and abilities to foster confidence, autonomous decision-making, and personal empowerment. Psychotherapy is appropriate for many, including those seeking a balanced lifestyle, healthier relationships, and an overall improved quality of life.

Reasons for seeking therapy are personal, diverse, and limitless.

How does it work?

The frequency and duration of therapy depends on the needs, desires, and resources of each person. Sessions can range from several times a week to twice a month or less.

All sessions are HIPAA secure and conducted online through Google Meet; Zoom and FaceTime are used as backup.

It is important to know and understand that the psychotherapeutic process and/or visual expressions may uncover uncomfortable or distressing emotions related to past/present/future experiences or sentiments. Personal growth, although not always, often involves excavating through psychological barriers, latent trauma and grief, or difficult relationships. Acknowledging, accepting, and moving beyond the resistance is key to affecting a sense of personal empowerment. During the process, the therapist stays highly attuned to the emotional needs of the client and adapts sessions accordingly.

At Inspired Therapy Studios, LLC, your journey is handled with great care and professionalism—all of your unique psychotherapeutic goals and desires are considered throughout the course of therapy.

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”

— Carl Rogers, On Becoming a Person
